kick ass-most appropriate title to a movie in years

I just got back from seeing the new pseudo-superhero movie, "Kick Ass." It was quite entertaining. Really funny, and the young girl in the movie (see photo) is unbelievable. Chloe Moretz (who you may have seen playing Rachel in "(500) Days of Summer," where she was also a scene-stealer) is literally 13 years old, and is leaps and bounds ahead of her time playing "Hit Girl" and owning the shit out of pretty much every male extra in the movie. At one point, (keep in mind I have no idea what I'm talking about, nor have I ever held a gun) she discharges the magazines or cartridges or whatever from her guns and reloads in the air while running forward and stabbing bad guys. Overall, she was epically badass. Besides my obvious awe of this little genius, the male lead, "Kick Ass" aka "Dave" (totally anti-climactic real name) is super cute and scared shitless for most of the movie-in a kind of adorable way. Christopher Mintz-Plasse (also known as "McLovin") is alright--kind of the same voice and demeanor of "McLovin" but I guess you do what you can with what you've got. In conclusion, I totally recommend this movie if you like action or comedy or teenage angst/horniness or comics or violence or back alley sex scenes or bazookas or jet packs. Obviously there's something for everyone. Enjoy it.

icy hot

I went to this bar "Arctica" in Murray Hill last night with my friend Ben from home and my roooooomie and Ben's friend Tyler. They always play really hype/girly rap and pop music so drunk girls love this spot. They also usually have dance floors in the back and downstairs. Also, the bartenders are some of the nicest I've encountered so far in NYC. The only downside is that it's a slightly older crowd until about 1:30am, but it's definitely always a good time. Go. Enjoy it.

yes please

Go out and pick up a copy of this month's Vogue Magazine. If for nothing else, the Mario Testino shoot with the lovely Sarah Jessica Parker will take your breath away...if you're into...ya know...fashion. Or celebrity. Or photography. Or architecture. Or pretty much anything artistic or cultural. This is a link to a behind-the-scenes video about her cover shoot. Enjoy it.

"Artie" of the beloved show "Glee" is such a sneak attack I can't even stand it. Enjoy it.

really?

Alright, firstly, can we talk about how crazy Lady Gaga is? I mean I get the appeal of her music I GUESS but doesn't she get tired of playing dress-up, like, ever?? Does babygirl own a pair of jeans? All I'm saying is that it has to be incredibly exhausting to always have to look ridiculous. And now that she's got a reputation for so perfectly personifying the term "hot mess," she's gotta keep it up-what's next? She already doesn't wear pants and fake bleeds during her performances. I guess there's nowhere to go but...well, down still probably. In conclusion, Lady Gaga, cool it with the lace face masks and buy some unoffensive clothing. Enjoy it.

i'm new

Hey all,

It's Caitlin. I've honestly been trying to avoid this whole blogging situation (I'm not sure if I can pull it off completely without looking like a complete asshole.) I say this because while I feel I have important things to say, I could be totally wrong. No harm in trying I suppose. I'm a fashion student at a school in New York City and I'm crazy content with my life at the moment. Very little to complain about. This blog will focus on fashion, cool places I hope to go in the city, good restaurants, things that inspire me as a partially creative person and funny stuff I find along the way. It's a crazy ride, ladies and gentleman. Enjoy it.
